Advertising
Advertising is a touchy subject and some very common questions business owners are concerned about it is how do I know if my advertising dollars are working for me? or How do I know if I’m reaching my targets properly?
Some of the most common ways small businesses advertise are the phonebook, flyers, T.V., radio and billboards. It’s true all of these mediums reach a lot of people but how efficiently is this done? Here is an average guide as to just how far your dollars get you with these types of advertising.
| Yellow Pages Ad | Television | Radio |
|
The average cost of a dollar bill sized ad will run you approximately $800 per month, that’s $9600 per year! Not only does this ad cost more than double the cost of an average sized wrap, it also places your business on a page with dozens of your competitors. |
A 30 second spot alone will cost you significantly more than wrapping one vehicle. If you’re a local business, television is not an efficient way to reach your local customers because the best channels air nationally. Why spend money advertising to people who will never buy your products? Plus when a commercial airs, most people's attention is on 'standby' from the program they sat down to watch. |
A premium radio commercial will cost you a minimum of $4500 per week. Because radio commercials can only be heard, no visual impression is made. So for about the same cost as an extensive 'full' wrap that will last years, you get advertising that can only be listened to. |
Now let’s give you some info on what a wrap can do for your business or product.
First off, a premium vehicle wrap will still look stunning three years after installation. The average cost of a vehicle wrap would be between $1500 and $5000, which translates to less than $5.00 / day over a three year timeline. This is a one time expense, no extras or monthly fees.
With a wrap you now have a mobile billboard. Park it outside your store or office, a hockey or football arena, a convention centre or anywhere your potential customers may be, it is working 24/7 for you. If your vehicle(s) are outdoors, you are advertising and you are effortlessly generating leads.
A properly designed vehicle wrap tells people you are reputable and shows a new level of professionalism.
Your imagination is the only limit to what we can do. From crystal clear pictures to textures that you need to touch to see if they are real, our graphics department will bring your ideas to life!

- Art Work/Design:::
Clients can provide their own art work based on our specifications or we can have one of our vehicle graphic designers build an ad that targets your key demographic of potential sales.
- Production:::
We print all wrap graphics using state of the art large format Eco Solvent printers. All images are printed at a minimum of 720 by 720 pixels per inch. We print only on high performance cast vinyl made by Oracal, 3M and AVERY and then laminate all prints with high performance cast overlaminate for a superior paint-like finish as well as maximum outdoor life.
- Installation:::
Our factory certified installers are the most experienced and best trained on the market. We stand behind our product – which we warranty for 3 years on factory paint and 1 year on the see-through window film.
6. What is involved in the design stage?
Communication with our sales and project department is essential to ensure your vehicle wrap is designed properly and deliverers a direct message to the public….your potential customers. A client interview/consultation is our first step. A concept is established during this meeting and a couple of proofs will be provided by our graphics department. Upon approval or “sign – off” on our printed proof, the production process begins.
7. What are the Design Specifications?
The design must be done taking into account that the images used need to be high resolution and full size at 150 dpi.
Files Accepted:
- Adobe Illustrator (EPS)– Version CS3 or earlier.

File types supplied to ignitonwraps.com must be adhered to our specifications and the wrap design must be properly scaled to the vehicle.
8. What designs work best for a vehicle wrap?
We encourage our clients to focus on the purpose of the vehicle wrap. We have found that simple but deliberate design works best. The vehicle is a moving billboard advertisement, so the message on the vehicle wrap must be instantly understood.
9. What is involved in the production stage?
After artwork is signed-off/approved, your image(s) are then organized and made print-ready. Then your graphics are printed, laminated and trimmed by our expert graphics team.
Installation: Once we have your graphics ready for installation our team will contact you to book your install.
Please bring us your vehicle the night before the install, CLEAN. We will move your Vehicle inside our facility so all water can evaporate off the vehicle. Depending on the size of your wrap and vehicle, we will need your vehicle for approximately 24 hours.
10. How do I send over my artwork files?
Email can be used to send over files that are under 5MB in size but for large size files we recommend using our ftp server.
11. How long does the process of wrapping a vehicle take?
Because every customer has different interests, the design stage varies from one wrap to another. Once this stage is finished, our usual production time for print and prep. is approximately 1 week.
12. How long do I need to be without my vehicle?
We only need your vehicle for a day or two depending on the size of your vehicle and the size of the wrap you’re after.
13. How much does a vehicle wrap cost?
The total cost of a vehicle wrap is based on three variables:
- Design/artwork time.
- Production based on square footage.
- Installation based on square footage.
14. Will I be able to see through my windows?
Yes, you will be able to see through your windows. We print the window graphic portion of the wrap on a 50/50 see-through film and use an optically clear overlaminate.
15. What if I want to change my logo or phone number on my wrap at a later time?
No problem! We can solve this by printing an overlay piece that will cover up the old piece, and in some cases we would print the panel piece with the new information.
16. Will a vehicle wrap damage my vehicle’s paint upon removal?
Our premium media will help protect your paint from rocks and scratches. Ignitonwraps.com use only premium cast media for its graphics. On a new vehicle or with paint that shows no signs of decay (rust, heavy scratches, etc) graphics can be removed with no adhesive residue after 3-4 years.
17. How do I care for my wrap?
We recommend that you don’t wash your vehicle for one week after the wrap. Hand washing is best. Avoid high pressure drive-through washes and be careful never to use an ice-scraper. Self serve car wash bays are fine provided that the pressure spray wand doesn’t get within a meter of your wrap.
- Lightly spray off surface dirt using the soap option.
- Use the foaming brush to gently brush off the remaining dirt.
- Gently spray off the soap suds from the previous steps and dry vehicle.
It’s always a good idea when your cleaning your wrap to inspect it and let us know if you see any lifting or imperfections. These instances are not uncommon and If we catch these early we have many options to fix these issues.
